Switch, Outdoor Switch, Wall Outlet, Wall Switch all have the ability to adjust Service Settings. Service settings allow Siri® to automatically recognize the device as a light or fan. Other HomeKit products may have different service setting options, depending on the product. For example, when you say, “Siri, turn on the lights/fans in my home,” Siri will recognize all the devices in that Service Group, and turn on the connected accessory. If the name of the product includes the words “Light” or “Fan,” it will change the Associated Service automatically.
To change the associated service after setup is complete, follow the steps below:
- Tap on the product in the iDevices Connected app
- Tap the product name in the upper left-hand corner
- Tap “Service Settings”
- Tap “Associated Service”
- Choose the appropriate service Lightbulb, Fan or None.
